In the spirit of unity, which can start with good sportsmanship, Crotona Park Running Club, Inc., a Bronx running club and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, will host the second annual New York Unity Race, on Saturday, September 21, 2019, from 10:00 AM (same day registration starts at 8 AM to 9:30 AM). Members of the NYPD and the community will run a 5K race (approximately 3.1 miles) on a predefined course in Crotona Park. Additionally, Crotona Park 5K will distribute focus-group-tested literature, together with other giveaways to help cultivate a healthy relationship between the NYPD and the community it serves.
The New York Unity Race is a multifaceted community project that includes a race, solutions for community and police relationship building, and solutions for community development. Think of the New York Unity Race as a fun walk or run toward community improvement. Proceeds from the race will help to fund our community projects.
Our community solutions include Life Skills Learning Centers, vocational book distribution, and more. Please click here to learn more.
In light of the tremendous value that this event offers in uniting us as New Yorkers and strengthening our community, we are requesting your support as an attendee, race participant, volunteer, or sponsor.
